In the evolving landscape of contemporary Latin club music, DJ NAP, also known as Daniel Rincón, stands out as a rising star. Originally from Colombia and now based in CDMX, Rincón has crafted a unique sound that seamlessly blends elements of reggaeton, guaracha, dembow, cumbia, and other Latin genres with ambient, techno, downtempo, chillout, and IDM. His journey began in Canada, where he honed his skills in Vancouver and Montreal, influenced by the vibrant 1080p and Mood Hut crews. Rincón's deep understanding of various musical styles has made him a versatile all-genre selector, capable of playing everything from country to techno, ambient to indie, and dub to cumbia.

Rincón’s latest works draw inspiration from the lively sound system (Sonidero) parties in Mexico City and the Cumbia Sabanera style from his native Colombia. His music, largely released on his own Isla imprint, reflects his experiences with 'Musica Tropical' in one of Latin America’s largest metropoles. These compositions are modern love letters to the Afro-Caribbean and Indigenous rhythms that flourish in everyday life, infused with an Adrian Sherwood-esque post-punk dub mixing style. This blend of influences creates a deep psychedelia that captivates listeners, showcasing DJ NAP’s ability to innovate and celebrate his rich cultural heritage through music.
